Project Manager / Key Account Manager (m/f/d)

A current note on this vacancy

We are currently not looking for someone to join us at a specific date, but we plan to have an addition to the team in the future.
Does that fit your plans? Then we look forward to receiving your application.

Welcome to the Magento Universe

If you haven’t heard of Magento yet, we’re going to change that. Because in our agency for web development, everything revolves around it:

We specialise in Magento, the e-commerce platform of Adobe. With this open source software, our team of 20 has been creating new online shops and expanding existing online shops based on individual customer requirements since 2012. Our focus is on long-term collaborations with a high demand on quality. Magento is also the basis for our module development, which, along with templates and training, is part of our service portfolio.

Getting started with our support

When you start with us, you will be assigned a mentor. This person will support you in quickly settling into the team and will also help you with your introductory training. We expect you to be able to learn independently in order to expand your knowledge in the areas that are important for your tasks and we expect you to be committed to continuing your education. The exchange of know-know includes not only the ability to absorb information but also the willingness to pass on your own knowledge: Internal hackathons and a weekly knowledge sharing session give you the opportunity to share your expertise with the team and expand your presentation skills at the same time.

These skills are required:

  • Thorough, independent way of working
  • Fluency in German and English
  • A preference for sustainable solutions
  • Technical understanding
  • Readiness to learn

These will score you extra points with us:

  • Degree in the field of media, communication, business or IT
  • Project management experience
  • Interest in UI/UX or SEO/SEA

What we’ve got to offer

Our small but excellent team works in a relaxed working atmosphere on interesting and varied tasks for clients from different sectors. Our modern office in Aachen with a fully equipped kitchen is the hub of our work but working from home is also possible.
Further training and personal development opportunities are not just buzzwords for us but part of everyday life at the weekly “Knowledge Dessert” (presentations after lunch), pair programming, training courses or the acquisition of certifications.

We are active shapers of the Magento community. As organisers of the Magento meetup in Aachen, with presentations at Magento conferences or as sponsors and active participants of the MageUnconference, we contribute to the exchange of ideas. We would be happy to have your support in this commitment.

As a project manager / key account manager, you will shape the web in general and e-commerce in particular with us. Our customers are different companies – some solely traders, some also manufacturers – from various industries that are active in both the B2B and B2C markets.

What does your day-to-day work with us look like?

In your daily work with us, you will usually be active in several of our clients’ e-commerce projects at the same time. The projects will usually not only be part of your work for just a few months but rather for a year or longer.

We organise our work across projects in 14-day sprints and use agile methods as long as they support us in a meaningful way. Your responsibilities include planning the sprints so that the tasks for developers are conceptualised, estimated and ready in the ticket system at the beginning of each sprint.

Your regular appointments throughout the week include the Weekly, a meeting of the whole team on Monday after lunch, and, depending on the project you work on, there are also weekly meetings with the developers, fixed appointments with the clients and meetings with other project managers, as well as a weekly meeting for sprint planning. Retrospectives and meetings to share experiences with each other enhance the schedule. We try to allow as much undisturbed working time as possible.

Remote Improvement Day in Gather

Special times require special measures

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of things have changed for us. We want to keep the useful adjustments in the future. Since early 2020, many of our team have been working predominantly from home, so we have adapted the organisational plans accordingly.

All of us are equipped with a powerful laptop that allows us to work flexibly in different locations. Being well equipped with the appropriate technology is part of our standard and so everyone also receives a suitable headset and a webcam.
We also promote spatial independence with our work organisation. A ticket system serves as a central source of information and shorter agreements can be made via Slack. In addition, video conferences are an essential part of our daily work. They are used for weekly meetings and project meetings, for the exchange of information and knowledge as well as for joint lunches or our virtual happy hour on Friday evenings.
