Gustini

Gustini is dedicated entirely to the Italian food culture. Since 2008, founder Jens Depenau has been sharing his culinary treasures with other Italy lovers. He regularly searches for new delicacies throughout Italy, so that Gustini’s customers can enjoy the art of Italian cooking in the comfort of their own homes, even without a long journey.

Wonder how we can help your online business?

Delight at all levels

Gustini stands for quality and a remarkable selection, created by employees that are constantly looking for new Italian specialities that bring the feeling of Bella Italia into the kitchens of their customers. Focussed on small Italian family businesses and manufacturers with whom Gustini maintains a close relationship, they really know their products and their origin. Experiences that the employees have made with the products are gladly shared with the customers during personal consultations, including tips how to best prepare the tasty dishes. By now, Gustini sells its products not only in Germany, but also in Austria, France, and Switzerland.

Gustini started with an own developed online shop. Since the offering was very well received by customers, requirements grew and a Magento shop was then developed by an agency. In 2016, we took over the technical support of the existing Magento-based online store and have been working for Gustini ever since.

A short way to a treat

The online store of Gustini impresses with its visual appearance, which takes the customer’s mind directly to Italy. The food is presented in an appetising and appealing way, right in the viewer’s focus. Subdued patterns and colours were chosen that remind us with the thrilling and diverse Italian culture and its closeness to nature.

Sometimes it’s the focus on the essentials, and sometimes it’s the attention to detail that leads the way. As in our collaboration, it is the same in Gustini’s online store: the main menu provides a clear overview, while the product detail pages offer detailed information about the origin of the items. This way, the customer sees at first glance what is important at Gustini: Close cooperation and quality. This focus is evident both in the relationship with the manufacturers as well as in the cooperation with us.

Another of Gustini’s aims is the promotion of sustainability. Slow Food and the reemergence of old vegetable varieties, threatened by extinction, are just two of the topics close to the heart of the team in Leipzig. In addition to the selection of products, the development of the site is also guided by this concept.

With attention to detail

The focus in the presentation of this online store is above all on ease of use since customers should be able to find the desired products quickly and also to discover new treats for themselves. We achieved this with a content concept developed especially for Gustini that makes optimal use of the available space. At the same time, the Magento store’s template was optimised for all devices in order to provide a pleasant shopping experience, no matter what kind of device the customers use.

In addition, we are adding more and more functionalities bit by bit to present Gustini’s delicatessen selection as it is: delicious and made with love. Gift orders, for example, are given a special personal touch, as customers can add a customised greeting card to the package.

“After we moved our proprietary shop system to Magento, we wanted to redesign the shop. For this reason, we were looking for an uncomplicated agile agency at eye level, which has relevant experience with Magento and could implement our redesign efficiently and SEO optimised. The cooperation and implementation went according to plan in a short time and, just like the result, fully met our expectations.”
