The Magento meetup in Aachen has always been something special at Christmas time: a combination of interesting talks, in depth expert discussions and mulled wine or punch at the Aachen Christmas market.
This year, our Christmas edition of the meetup will be held on December 11, 2023.
For this, we invited two people who have a special insight into the Magento world:
- Vinai Kopp (President, Mage-OS)
- Mathias Schreiber (Executive Director, Magento Association)
But that's not all!
Some of you will be in Aachen for the first time. That's why we have come up with a very special program:
- 3 PM: The doors to our office are open. Feel free to grab a coffee, tea or a "Printe", the Aachen speciality.
- 4 PM: Talks and discussion in our office
- 6 / 7 PM: Christmas market
- 9 PM: restaurant
Before the event: Escape Room or Aachen city tour
We share the rooms with a professional Escape Room and have the possibility to use it as well. Do you like solving puzzles in a team? Then this program item is something for you! If you are interested, just mention it in your registration and be at our office at 2pm.
For those who don't know Aachen and its interesting history yet, we offer a guided (by one of us) city tour. Again, just indicate that you would like to participate when you register. We will meet at 2pm at the Elisenbrunnen in the city center of Aachen (less than 5 minutes walk from Motel One). We will end at the office, in time for the presentations.

Next stop: Christmas market Aachen
After the talks, around 6 / 7 PM we go to the Katschhof, the square between the Aachen Cathedral and the City Hall. There we find it especially festive, because at this spot the Christmas market and Aachen present themselves from their finest side. Our meeting point and source for mulled wine and punch is the Öcher Glühweintreff, directly at the back of the Aachen Cathedral (exact position on Google Maps).
Once the Christmas Market closes at 9pm, we plan to get together at a nearby restaurant to close out the day. The exact place will follow soon.
